Gaia Evolution Foundation maps emerging responses to planetary interdependence and accelerating technology — and helps the people and fields that can carry them forward find each other.
Much of this work is still in the making: ideas, practices and collaborations already taking shape, but without a settled language, field or institutional home.
It grows from more than fifteen years of field-building by Pavel Luksha and collaborators. Global Education Futures, our earlier institution, began this way — people working on different parts of the future of learning were brought into a shared conversation until a field, language and international network began to form.
Gaia Evolution Foundation is an attempt to make that pattern deliberate — and to solve one problem that repeatedly came with it: how to create something generative without making it permanently dependent on the person who started it.
Humanity can now alter climate, ecosystems, economies and information environments at planetary scale — and AI and biotechnology are extending that power further.
Our institutions, cultures and ways of cooperating were largely built for a world in which the consequences of individual decisions travelled less far and changed more slowly.
The power of our civilisation has outpaced our capacity to use it well. We call this collective developmental challenge Planetary Adulthood.
The point is not to invent one planetary worldview. It is to ask what kinds of people, institutions and forms of cooperation become capable of acting responsibly in systems they can profoundly influence but never fully control.
GEF works where something important is visible, but its final form is not — helping such work acquire enough language, relationships and institutional support to become real.
Bring knowledge and tools into questions that cannot be solved inside one discipline.
Bring work of your own — develop it in contact with people working on other parts of the same transition.
Not to join somebody else's finished programme, but to shape one through our Fellowship and collaboration formats.
Help promising work move from an early field into durable experiments and institutions.
